Mount Isa Christian College: Curriculum
Curriculum
The school’s educational programme provides for the eight key learning areas of:
- · Arts (Visual Arts and Music)
- · English (Reading, writing, spelling, handwriting, grammar, speech)
- · Health and Physical Education (Including daily fitness activities and weekly sport)
- · Languages Other than English (Chinese - Mardarin from Year 3)
- · Mathematics (Number, numeration, measurement, chance and data, space)
- · Science (General studies up to Year 4)
- · Studies of Society and Environment (General studies up to Year 4)
- · Technology.
The eight key learning areas are based on the curriculum developed by The Queensland Studies Authority. In addition, the curriculum includes a course in Christian Studies from Prep to Year 7.
All subjects are taught from the perspective of a Christian world view.
